DMCA
Last updated: October 12, 2026
We respect the rights of creators and copyright owners. If a clip on vjerk uses your work without permission, tell us and we will take it down. This page explains how, following the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
You appear in a clip without your consent
You do not need to own the copyright or fill in a legal notice. Email contact@vjerk.com with the subject line “Consent removal” and the link to the clip. We take the clip offline while we review your request, usually within a few hours, and we never publish it again if you did not agree to it.
Sending a copyright notice
Send your notice to our designated agent (details at the bottom of this page). To be valid under the DMCA, it must include:
- your physical or electronic signature, or that of the person authorised to act for the copyright owner;
- a description of the work you believe was copied;
- the exact link to each clip on vjerk that you want removed (a link to the site’s home page is not enough);
- your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
- this statement: “I have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”;
- this statement: “The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the owner, or authorized to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
Creators who find their own clips re-uploaded on vjerk can use the same process. If you have a verified creator account, you can also write to us from your account email for a faster check.
What happens next
We review complete notices within 48 hours. If the notice is valid, we remove the clip and let the uploader know, sending them a copy of the notice with your contact details. Incomplete notices may be delayed while we ask for the missing information.
Accounts that receive repeated valid copyright notices are closed.
Please only send a notice if you are sure. Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a false claim can be held liable for damages.
Counter-notice
If your clip was removed and you believe it was a mistake or that you had the right to post it, you can send a counter-notice to the same agent. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- the clip that was removed and the link where it appeared;
- this statement: “I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.”;
- your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if you live outside the United States, any judicial district in which vjerk may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
We forward valid counter-notices to the person who sent the original notice. If they do not tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the clip. A clip removed for lack of consent from a person who appears in it is not restored.
